Game Review: When a charm spell goes wrong, you end up in a Corpse Party Game Review: When a charm spell goes wrong, you end up in a Originally released on in japan, Corpse Party has since gone under many changes and upgrades, as well as sequels, spin-offs and more. Its first official release on this side of the globe was only last year, when it became available on Steam. Plot Corpse Party tells the story of 8 students of Kisaragi Academy, who together with their teacher, decide to perform a seemingly innocent charm that is supposed to make their friendship last forever. Separated from their friends, each student must find their way out, avoid death, and reunite with the rest of the team before it is too late for all of them.

The stories are very different. As far as better, yes, I have to say the PSP version of the game is more detailed.

But the PC98 version is very different in regards to story and, while less detailed and a shorter romp than the PSP game, has some key scenes that make it worth playing regardless of whether you plan to or have played the PSP version or not. Entirely different games with an entirely different story.

One of the huge differences that jumps to mind is the difference in how Sachiko is handled in the PC98 game versus the PSP game. Sachiko feels more 'complete' to me in the PC98 game and far, far more interesting.

She's my favorite character in the PC98 game, while she doesn't even factor into consideration for me in the PSP game. This is because she's barely even touched on in the PSP game and just leaves her as a shadowy archvillain who you just need to defeat.

Naturally, as I mentioned, the story's differences are kind of akin to Shattered Memories vs Silent Hill 1. The base plot of being trapped in a closed space made by Sachiko is still there, but all the events that happen are different. It's definitely worth playing both just to see how it changed and to see a different side of your favorite characters.

This time around, they might just have an opportunity…. Follow the group in a replay of their most darkest moments, and watch in horror as things go horribly wrong.

Featuring many new characters, and more grotesque deaths and even more frightening moments. Seven terrifying moments with no room for comfort. With a new visual novel system making it even harder to navigate and escape, brand new CGs to make you soil your pants, can you trick fate?

Can you escape, and stay on the road of sanity? Try the game out, and see for yourself how deep you can dig your grave.
